I can’t wait to save the world from you To feel like a champion is more than I ever could do I can’t wait to save my world from you I’ll try not to rest my head for fear I won’t ever come to I’ve filtered out these friends of mine And found a lot I never knew I’ve fallen out with friends in time I can’t believe I put that all on you Can’t see through this Fate, distorted Shame is silent So don’t write this down Speak to me now Faith is desperate A grey permanence Pain is silent So don’t write this down Speak to me now Fate was wrong as I recall Fate was wrong as I recall Fate was wrong as I recall Fate was wrong as I recall

Save the right words until Autumn So you can say them from miles away It’s a shame we can’t ever be open But I’m ready still I can feel the thrill I never wanted to make sense I always thought I’d be somewhere on the road Used my songs like a defense They never led me anywhere but home I was a hopeless romantic I had my eye on the prize so many times Used my heart like a defense It always led me everywhere but home But I’ll still spill my guts for you Where we are now is somewhere new I was too young to focus Too savor every moment I lost all forward motion Now I’m standing still while you’re leaving (I never stayed in a single place) I wanted your devotion Some kind of secret potion Hellbent on backward motion Now I’m standing still while you’re leaving

Now and then I start to celebrate, start to medicate my way around But lately I feel like I've wandered off, like a passenger who missed his stop Because you were the rock I anchored on The 'X' on the map I stumbled on And I'm waiting here to find you Now and then I levitate to you, pull away from you to a lonely shore You were the rock I anchored on The 'X' on the map I stumbled on And I'm waiting here to find you You were a heart that missed a beat A hole in the earth that swallowed me And I'm waiting here to find you Let’s set our sails towards the moon We’ll follow its lead ‘til dawn ‘Cus you can’t outrun the ones you love And why would you want to? I’d scour the earth to bring you home Cus lately you feel like a ship passing me by
4.
Lighthouse 05:12
This the first of more to come, an echoing of all we've said and done But in between there's a sadness we live for When I'm in between there's nothing I love more I came to say, "I'm alive just for your sake." We've lost and we have found But don't get worried, don't get out I'm here to stay like a lighthouse in the rain A beam above this town That can't stay busy, can't stand out (or settle down)
5.
Seaward 04:24
Act I: "I'm too young to repent, I am just a boy I don't need a war to pull me in and hang me out to dry." "Then just stand your ground, dear Like a valiant steed Leave your arms uncrossed, dear Time has led the finer things to me So give me your heart and the rest give up to the sea." Act II: So I started thinking where's the place to be For a hardened heart and the bitter blood and bones inside of me? I was an open window, I had my own rule book Now I'm so goddamn lucky 'Cus with nothing to guide you, and no one to help you row You can tear up your map and invent your own way to go. It wasn't slight of hand It wasn't contraband It was just the view from land The sea at night could tame a wild beast I'm not the same as them I'm just a conduit So fucking radiant What world is left can end without me Act III: This fate of ours, it was wrong, as I recall But this love of mine, I would give to you every time
6.
Minuteman 05:03
I know that if you had your way we would be, all alone On this earth, laughing at birds on a wire, trembling But oh my god, I’ve been down here so long it hurts I’ve seen the earth crumble beneath pious men, as their bones get weaker with sin If a minuteman came to protect me, I’d have no worries, I would be free ‘Cus the perils of love’s unrequited sting like a bullet, that I’ve never seen (I’m scared to be me) He spread his love all through the hallways How could this happen? When will it end? We beg, steal and borrow Cus there’s nothing that’s sacred to them I’m scared to be more
7.
Shy Away 03:46
Are you feeling like there's nowhere else to run? This weight, it hangs around just like the sun Can I tell you something so you won't shy away from me? "Let it be, let it be, let me be..." I feel like there's a sadness stuck in you I can see it in your eyes across the room Can you tell me something so it won't eat away at me? "Let it be, let it be, let me be..." And I know that we can’t wake up with a beam of silence overhead So let me say what no one wants to say, and pretend to believe it when I do “There’s nowhere else to run”
8.
Darling, you’re fading out There’s nothing around The light will guide you now Try to just level out You’re stuck in the clouds I’m yours to bury now Boy, you’re a light, you’re royalty You’re a saint when no one is I can’t wait to follow you Darling, you’re fading out I trust you’ll be sound Chase your demons down Can’t you just level out? Be rid of the doubt I’m all you’ve got right now Boy, you’re a light, you’re royalty You’re a saint when no one is I can’t wait to follow you Boy, I’m a fraud, I’ve always been But my pride is much too strong I can’t wait to follow you
9.
I never wanted to get things right I only wanted to say I tried That’s all we can do these days I found a way to keep things straight But I confused them anyway I had a way out If I could do it all again, I would I still see what you can’t see is true It still seems like you can’t speak for you I’m waiting for your light to show
10.
Hindsight 05:41
You say, “we’re alive and we’re well for now, on the ground” So I’ll wait If we die, I will follow you in the ground It never was a sad song that made us work ‘Cus it always was enough to act like we’re young I thought I knew it all, but who really does? It never was enough to block out the sun Will it ever be enough? That wasn’t right, that wasn’t me That was the coldest I’ve ever been If you get a chance to leave, don’t waste that one on me That wasn’t right, that wasn’t me I dug out a hole and planted the seeds If I get a chance to leave, I’ll make sure you’re with me

about

This album began ten years ago. Some of us thought it would never see the light of day. But deep down, we knew we could never let that happen. This is a gift to all of you who have been with us since the beginning, joined us along the way, and/or waited and asked for this record since 2012. This is us revisiting a journey we began in our twenties with all of the wisdom (or lack thereof) we now have in our thirties.

This is where we are now.
